Stormdrain Stenciling to Protect Ichetucknee
A Lake City Boy Scout is doing his part to educate the public about this hydrological connection by conducting an Eagle Scout project. During August, Justin Simmons and fellow scouts will stencil stormdrains “Drains to Alligator Lake”. Read about this initiative.

Hope For The Sacred River: An Evening on The Ichetucknee With John Moran
Acclaimed Florida nature photographer John Moran returned to the source of his love for natural Florida and provided a multi-media tour of the beautiful but imperiled Ichetucknee River to an audience of 200 Lake City citizens.

Good Deeds for the Ichetucknee
Often we only hear about the bad actors that are causing harm to our treasured natural resources. However, the Ichetucknee Springs Basin Working Group looks for individuals, businesses or agencies that are doing good things for Ichetucknee Springs. Since the working groups objective is to protect the waters flowing to Ichetucknee Springs from as far north as Lake City, there are lots of opportunities for citizens to perform good deeds. A number of local Ichetucknee Springs champions have been recognized for their good deeds since the working group was formed in 1995. Read more
